Created in 2005 by Francis Abécassis, the brand ABK6 takes the family name, combining the two main values of the brand: modernity and family heritage. ABK6 is taken from the shorthand the family has always used to write their surname so it is pronounced (A-BE-CA-SSIS).

One family estate, spread over 4 exceptional vineyards, only in top locations and working purely with the Ugni Blanc grape variety. Growing on hills facing East-West the 380 hectares of vines are located in 4 exceptional locations; Dizedon and Segeville in Grande Champagne; Maine Drilhon in Petite Champagne; and Chez Maillard in Fins Bois.

ABK6 cognacs are made from a blend of the best batches, double distilled in small Charentais copper pot stills, with the handmade ‘cut’ made by our master distiller, Frédéric David, tuned to his experience and senses to extract the best.

Aged exclusively in French Oak Casks, with a loose grain type and a medium to high toast bringing spicy, vanilla and roasted notes. In the cellars, the eaux-de-vie begin by spending 6 to 12 months in new casks, before continuing their ageing in older casks for years to come.

A highly qualified team carefully monitor vine growing, wine making, distillation, ageing and blending on each site. All stages of production are carried out on our estates.

Two significant honours were bestowed the brand in 2019. A ‘High Environmental Value Certification’ obtained in for commitment to the protection of the environment, in particular by reducing the use of weed killers and by reducing our consumption of phytosanitary products. And the prestigious ‘Producer of the Year’ for the Cognac category in 2019, awarded by the IWSC competition, in London.
