The history of the Braastad family spans several centuries, but the history of Braastad Cognac begins in 1875 when a young man from Charente founded his own Cognac House on the banks of the Charente river in Jarnac. Five generations later, our Cognac is still made with the utmost care and applying the know-how of yesteryear. This age-old work makes the reputation of our Cognacs today.

The Braastad House keeps its family and independent character and is managed by the grandsons of Sverre Braastad. We are proud to continue an ancestral know-how and to share our Franco-Norwegian culture throughout the world. Our House is one of the few able to control internally each stage of Cognac production. The family thus defends three fundamental values that are its own: authenticity, traceability and quality.

"Today, our grapes come from our terroir, we work with local partners and we strive to have a sustainable production that respects the environment in which we live. » Richard Braastad – Master Blender
