Any reputation has some basis in fact, and Cognac has long carried an aura of luxury. It can be dazzlingly decadent, yet crucially the liquid itself more than lives up to the expectation, offering depth, elegance and remarkable complexity shaped by decades of careful ageing.
Guilhem Grosperrin has had the enviable task of tasting and bottling some exceptional examples of mature spirit, which we are celebrating in this tasting, including his Petite Champagne N°67 and Grande Champagne N°39, dating back respectively to the 1967 and 1939 vintages. Through these rare releases, we’ll explore how time, terroir and meticulous selection transform Cognac into something truly extraordinary, revealing layers of flavour, history and craftsmanship that few spirits can rival.
